The McCarthy Family

The McCarthy family has been serving the local community and its residents for nearly 60 years. Dan’s father, Hon. Daniel A. McCarthy, and mother, Maureen, moved to Cortlandt with their family of five in 1962. Since then, The McCarthy Law Firm, P.C. has provided sound advice and counsel to those in need of legal services in our area.

Judge Daniel Sr. served as Town Justice in Cortlandt for 30 years with distinction and honor. He represented thousands of clients over the years and was an active participant in community affairs.

Following in that tradition, his son, Dan F. McCarthy, Esq., served as Cortlandt Town Justice and Buchanan Acting Village Justice for a total of 16 Years of judicial experience. Dan has also worked as a Municipal Attorney, where he represented local Municipal, Planning, and Zoning Boards.

Dan, along with his wife Mitra, raised four children in Cortlandt. Throughout the years, he served the community as a youth sports coach and sponsor, member of the Coast Guard Auxilary, and Boy Scout leader.

Dan continues to devote his legal career of 35+ years to practicing law that serves his clients and the local community.
